Meet the Members of Parliament leading the way on waste
These federally elected representatives have pledged to ditch single-use cups — will yours be next?
Each year, Australians throw away an estimated 1.6 billion disposable coffee cups, most of which end up in landfill. It’s a symbol of a broken system, where convenience is prioritised over sustainability, and voluntary industry action has failed to make meaningful change.
But change is possible — and it starts with leadership.
The MPs on this page have taken a simple but powerful pledge: To stop using single-use coffee cups and commit to reusables instead.
By doing so, they’re:
- Taking action on plastic pollution
- Leading by example in one of the nation’s most visible workplaces
- Showing support for policies that move Australia toward a circular economy
